Bend without the 'Ouch!'

So many women over my years of being a Menopause Coach have bemoaned about their achy joints.

”I never used to think twice about getting on the floor..... now I need a complete strategy to get up!”

When.....

You know that feeling when you do a bit of gardening and then the next day you can hardly lift your arms...... or when you go to reach for something on the highest shelf and your arm just won’t straighten?

Why.....

Over the course of time, we know that our estrogen depletes as we age but what does that mean?

Estrogen (or Oestrogen - same thing) is your juicy hormone. It’s the one that staves away inflammation and oils your cogs. Over time, if you don’t address this, then you can suffer from painful inflammation around your joints ..... making you feel old before your time!

What.....

There are lots of things you can do to help yourself here. Eating foods that reduce inflammation and building strength around your joints are just 2 things.

Keeping your muscles pliable is a must too. Accepting that you’re now going to be ‘creaky for life’ isn’t what has to happen.

How.....

Eat foods that are rich in Phytonutrients. These are basically mimicking your natural estrogen.

Include foods rich in Magnesium to keep your muscles pliable and add some weights to your workouts to increase the balance of your hormones AND slow down the process of your muscles thinning (sarcopenia).

The old ways that used to serve you well simply won’t work as you head through menopause and post-menopause but believe me - there’s a lot of life worth living and a lot you can do to make it easy for yourself.
